This beautiful guy has been showing up in my trees the last week or so. He flies from tree to tree finding just the right one to peck. After searching the web I determined that he is a Pileated Woodpecker. He is approximately 15" from head to tail. He is quite majestic and really beautiful when he spreads those large wings and takes flight. I had to follow him all over my property to get this picture. I think he thought I was the paparazzi. He's really kind of a "down to business" guy and doesn't like to be bothered. Next time I spot him I'll try to get a better picture. The paparazzi never rest!
