French by Design

During our trip to New Braunfels. this past
weekend, we had the wonderful opportunity
to tour a magnificent home

Welcome to the home of Doug and Lilly

This talented couple designed their
home in the true french country style
and decorated it with art and furnishings
from their world travels

This spectacular home is a feast for the eyes!

It's set in the beautiful rolling hills
of the Texas Hill Country

As you enter their home you are surrounded by their collection of  elegant art work

Let's turn that corner and see where it leads to........

Are you drooling yet???

want to take a closer look at Lilly's amazing kitchen
And to add to the charm of this
french country kitchen
there is a delightful pantry
I could stay in this pantry forever!!

and her laundry room is just as pretty..
This home has some of the prettiest tile work
I've ever seen
Here is my favorite room....
 The Sun Room
just off the kitchen

Doug and Lilly told us the ceiling in this room
was designed for this unique light fixture
It's a piece of art work itself!!

......and the bedrooms are fabulous also....

The most unique room in this amazing home
(well in my humble opinion)
is the toilette off the entry hall

They incorporated an old baptismal font
as the sink

and this beautiful mirror hangs off the wall
at a slight angle above the font

Bien joue`
Tu as fait un boulot formidable

Well done!  You did a magnificent job!

After our tour of Doug and Lilly's home
we headed to Gennaro's Trattoria
Our dear friend Janie had made
reservations for a late lunch
for the six of us

We were surrounded by great food, good wine

and fabulous company!!

Every Little Birdie says-
Good friends, good food, good wine
LIFE AT IT'S BEST
and now we are off to the beach for a few days
See you when we return home
Meanwhile join me at the parties over at
