In a previous post I showed you

a new feature on my screened porch

some of you commented on

how much you liked it

Thank you, but unfortunately there was a problem...

.....the outside humidity didn't work

well with my banner -

Sad but true it was time for a change.....

So instead I hung the remnant of fabric

I found at the Round Top Fair

and added some of my old

key collection to the display

It's different to be sure......

but I think I like it

and it will definitely work

better than the banner

Now a little news about my outside

patio makeover

I told you we were waiting for hubby's wood rack

well it arrived today -- that's the good news

the bad news is it was defective and after

a call to Home Depot we are now waiting

on a replacement

The reveal of the new and improved outside patio

will probably have to wait until next week

Sorry

but the exciting news is I will announce

Obsession

As most of you know I

love all things "Birdie"

(Ok, maybe it's a bit of an obsession)

Any old way

I've added a couple of

"birdie" items to my NEST.....

want to see........

I found these wooden tiles at an antique shop

Took me a while digging through the bucket of letters
but I finally found the ones to spell "Birdie"



And then this.....

Found the old hanger in Gruene, Texas
Perfect to hang my NEST banner on

too cute not to share

April Showers bring May flowers

We didn't get a lot of rain in April

but what we did get sure helped

my flowers grow!

as I mentioned in my last POST
we are doing a makeover on our
outside patio

for those of you who are waiting
on the "makeover" post I've run
into one little problem

I'm waiting on a fire log rack my
hubby ordered on line before
I can complete the new look

His cooking wood is LEAVING the patio
and finding a home elsewhere - yea!

but meanwhile here is a little peak at
a new glider we bought for the patio......

the pillow is covered with an old flour sack
I found at an antique shop in Fredericksburg
and tied with a burlap bow

Outdoor Space

Over at Every Little Birdie's
we love our outdoor spaces

Most of you are familar with

my front and back porches

Front porch



and my back screened porch
which has been featured on a number of blogs

But I don't think I've shared  much
about my outdoor patio

and there is a reason for that......

It's a little too "shabby" in the wrong
sort of way - if you know what I mean

Hubby and I decided it needed
a make over

We've been busy working on making
this space more attractive.....

and next week I hope to reveal
the "new" outdoor patio
at Every Little Birdie's Nest!!

It will be shabby in all the right ways!!

I hope everyone has enjoyed

my posts about our fabulous

three weeks with my British relatives

(My cousins, Andy and Anne)

Our visit to the Easley's Ranch

.... this past Monday

we took them to the

Houston Intercontinental Airport

for their return flight home

We enjoyed every minute of our time with them

and goodbyes are always sad for us

but this one was a little easier

because they have invited us
to visit them on their side of the pond

so.......2014 England here we come!

it will be so wonderful returning to visit
 my favorite places and seeing all my English family

But wait there's more......

 Two more of my English cousins and their wives

 will be visiting us this coming September

Can't wait to share posts with you about that visit also!!
