Nothing says October like a 

PUMPKIN PATCH

 I've been creating my own 

little pumpkin patch 

around my NEST

and what's a pumpkin patch without a scarecrow?

 

 

 

 

Or a pretty Fall Mum

I also tried my hand at

a Fall chalkboard message

 

Every Little Birdie 

& 

 "Miss Mary"

(my new grand puppy) 

says

Happy October

My Antique Show treasures

If you caught my last post

Miles and Miles and Miles of Junk

You might ask

"Well did you buy any good JUNK?"

WELL OF COURSE!

Over our two days at the Antique Fair
I found the following

 -this wooden architectural piece
in a darling shabby chic booth
in Round Top 

 and it found the perfect home in my guest room

How have I ever lived without it????

This little treasure was on a table

heaped with assorted junk

Never one to be bashful I offered the man

$1.25 for it!  DONE DEAL!

Doesn't it look sweet on my bathroom shelf?

I was searching for and found
a few vintage plates for my collection
in my dining room

I told my sister not to let me shop
in any of the vintage linen booths
(I have enough)
BUT SHE FAILED!
so I found this cute table cloth

it found a home on a table on the screened porch

This little "girl" caught my eye

I bargained and got her for 1/2 price

She watches over my pumpkin patch 
on my front porch

 I don't know why I bought this
but it spoke to me

It ended up as a pedestal

for my pumpkin

 and last......

 The blouse was on a $10.00 rack in a cute clothing booth

and the flower pin was in one of my favorite 
Shabby Chic booths
I told the lady I could make it myself
but I'd love it more if I bought it from her!
$6.00 well spent!!

Miles and miles and miles of JUNK!

Twice a year in South Texas

Spring and Fall
(for about two weeks)

There's a strange phenomena that happens!

miles of farm land

 the occasional farm house

and sprawling ranches

Are  suddenly transformed 
from peaceful and serene

TO A TREASURE HUNTING FRENZY

 those seldom traveled back roads
are filled with 
 bumper to bumper traffic

and TENTS spring up

in the farm fields like cotton

   as far as the eye can see 

IT'S THE "TEXAS SIZED"

ANTIQUE SHOW

It covers over 25 miles

and stretches from

Warrenton to Round Top

to Carmine

to Burton

Better know as the Roundtopolis

and these tiny towns

will grow to over 100,000 people

during the show!!

YOU HAVE TO SEE IT

TO BELIEVE IT!!!

LET THE HUNT BEGIN

YOU ARE SURE TO FIND

EVERYTHING YOU ARE

LOOKING FOR

AND LOTS OF JUNK

YOU DIDN'T EVEN KNOW YOU NEEDED!!

YOU WILL SHOP TILL YOU DROP!
