Daughter's Style

If you read my last post
you know I helped my
daughter do a little
decorating at her
new home

I love her style

She made the wreath over
her antique piano

I love it!!!!
I need a tutorial on how to make one of these!

I also love these arches she bought
at the Canton Flea Market

I love it that she has her own style
with a little bit of "mom's style" thrown in!!

We love spending mom and daughter
time sharing decorating ideas

Daughter like Mother

I've been an absentee blogger......

I went to the Dallas
area for a week to
visit family and friends

My daughter and her family
had just moved the week before
and I promised to help
her decorate her new kitchen
during my visit

We started unpacking her
boxes of decor items
and went to work arranging
the top of the kitchen cabinets

She has a lot of great
pieces to work with which made
it easy and fun!!!!

Daughter like Mother she loves
all things "Birdie" too!!!!!

She is an awesome bargain shopper!!!
She found these green box containers
at one of her favorite re-sale shops
Aren't they cute

After arranging and re-arranging
we finally decided
we liked it!

I love spending time with my

Flattery????

It has been said that
imitation is the best form of flattery.....

Well I recently pinned this
beautiful day bed
on Pinterest

Doesn't it just call out to you
REST

Well I decided to try
and imitate
this look on my
back screened porch

OK, friends out there
in blog land
you decide

does it work or not????

I'm still on the fence

I really want to hear them!!!

Farm to Market Roads

Hubby and I had talked
earlier in the week
about taking a country drive
this weekend

Well the weekend is here
so after our morning coffee
and a few chores
we headed out to explore

I love the Texas back roads

Even the cows were looking for a shady spot
out of the Texas heat!!
The first town our
farm to market road led us to
was Yoakum

This small town has
lots of Rustic Charm

What's a Texas town without a Dance Hall!!

Down Town Yoakum
Hubby let me pop in
Bluebonnet Treasures
for a look see
After meandering around
this tiny town we decided
to find a local spot to eat lunch
We had the blue plate special
Chicken Fried Steak w/ cream gravy
3 sides, iced tea & spice cake

Got to love a country cafe!!

After lunch we hit the road again
This FM Road led us to Cuero

My favorite place in Cuero is
Wagner's Hardware

This old Hardware store has been here
for over 65 years, and is ozzing with country charm
Upstairs above the Hardware Store you'll
find Granny's Attic

Upstairs or Downstairs you're sure to
find that treasure you simply can't
live without!!!!!

Across from Wagner's
you'll find one of the
many antique shops
in this cute town

Around the corner I found this great little shop
It's called
Off Broadway Antiques
While I was shopping hubby met
this little assistant to the shop keeper
Her name is Bella

Cuero is a Texas Jewel and one of our best kept secrets!!

On the road again
As Willie says
We headed to Yorktown

Sorry Yorktown, but we just
couldn't feel your charm
so after a quick trip through downtown.......

We were ready for this country road
to take us home.....
