Our Thanksgiving Day

As I mentioned in my last post
we were invited over to our
friends from church
for Thanksgiving Day

They live out in the country on ranch

It was a gorgeous day in the low 80's

Before dinner my friend Nell took us
on a ride around the ranch

Their pond is a great place to catch
a few bass or watch the ducks fly in

The horses were out in the pasture
enjoying the pretty weather

And of course what's a South Texas Ranch
without a little Prickly Pear Cactus

There is a sign on their front gate
"fresh eggs for sale"

So we stopped by the barn to
see Nell's chickens

Guess what we found when this
chicken came out of her roost

A nice warm egg that had just been layed!!
How cool is that?

...... but now it was time to head back to the house
and check on the turkey...........

But wait....

Is this the turkey????

Or this????

What about this one?????

No, this is the turkey!!!!

and all the trimmings!!!!

We ate until we couldn't wiggle

Every Little Birdie says -

I am so thankful for sweet
friends that share their home
and holiday with us

How was your Thanksgiving?

  1. Great photos! We had a lovely Thanksgiving, too; putting my family up a Rock St. Retreat, which you are well acquainted with.
